Using handprinted fabric remnants from Harvest Textiles and pandanus from Samoa learn to make a basket using Pacific Island weaving techniques with local artist Maryann Talia Pau.
This workshop will use a coiling technique that can be found across the Pacific Islands and Indigenous Australia.
In this workshop the traditional and contemporary become one and with Maryann's expert guidance you can weave yourself a basket.
All materials provided but feel free to bring along any bits you have at home. Common materials include raffia, wool, plastic ribbon, paper, wire etc.
