Join the talents behind the award-winning animation and children's story book OWL KNOW HOW (Cat Rabbit and Isobel Knowles) to design and make your very own individual soft toy character.
Participants will learn how to design three-dimensional shapes for toymaking. They will learn skills for joining shapes together and different techniques for character construction. They will be asked to explore different ways of decorating and adding detail and personality to their characters.
Some basic experience with hand sewing is required.
All materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to think about a couple of characters to explore during the workshop.
Cat Rabbit is a textile artist and designer whose expertise is giving a very unique personality to felt creatures. Isobel Knowles is an animator who is interested in giving natural movement to unnatural things.
July 14th & 15th 2012 10.30am - 4pm
All workshops are small and intimate with this workshop catering to a maximum of 10 students.
